Youth and Gap Year

Youth and Gap Year

The “hippies” of the sixties uncovered Negril on Jamaica’s most western tip with its seven miles of unspoilt beach and sensational sunsets.  “Spring-breakers” of subsequent generations followed the path their parents had beaten and explored further.  Today’s youth traveler to Jamaica may flock the favourite haunts, but are equally adept at finding new spots throughout the island that reflect their own special taste and style.

Perhaps it has something to do with the spirit of the Jamaican people who laugh easily and party heartily.  Jamaicans live individualism and share their world view through a culture that is rich and strong.

Perhaps you, the youth-man or woman need to cool out on a beach or in the Blue Mountains before the new semester.  You may be among the student visitors thinking of spending study time on a scenic Jamaican campus.  You may be one of many young travelers considering contributing to the work of churches or other special interest groups while creating beautiful memories and building life-long friendships in Jamaica.

They say of Jamaica, “Once you go, you know”.  Jamaica is an education, Jamaica is an enigma.  Jamaica is yours to enjoy. It’s not surprising that the youth of the world sing together, “Come to Jamaica and feel alright”.
